The Communication Networks Laboratory of University of Athens was founded in
1994 as a research unit of the Telecommunications and Signal Processing
division of the Department of Informatics. During the past years the Laboratory
has been actively involved in a number of national and international projects.
The main focus of such projects was in the area of Mobile/Wireless
Communications (UMTS, Broadband Radio Access Networks), Specification/Testing
of Telecommunication Protocols and Multimedia Communications. Owing to its
successful participation in such projects, the Laboratory has managed to
establish close relationships with a large number of organizations including
academic and research institutions, telecommunication operators, and large
manufacturing houses of a European and national level.
