MGW 1000 streams high quality video over IP from a modular multi-service platform designed for mission-critical applications that can encode, transcode, and recast MPEG-1, MPEG-2, and/or MPEG-4 AVC/H.264 video channels in real-time. MGW 1000 is complemented by a collection of professional management solutions, the EMS and Cluster Manager, which enable intuitive, simple management of multiple platforms and hundreds of channels from one centralized application. These capabilities provide technical managers and staff with powerful tools to monitor, diagnose and operate the systems from any location.
MGW 1000 is constructed around an industry standard midplane, each slot is individually networked on its own bus forming a star topology that is uniquely robust. The entire platform is based on IP/Ethernet architecture. The front slots house service boards that perform the processing operations, while the rear slots house I/O boards. This dynamic structure offers high flexibility and efficiency by allowing MGW operators to optimize their mix of service and I/O boards according to their exact needs.
